Today, The Caine Halter Family Y held the annual YMCA Open Doors Campaign Celebration Luncheon. The Greenville YMCA branches, sponsors and donors came together to celebrate children, health and wellness and social responsibility. The Caine Halter Y raised a total of $281,000 to fund the Open Doors Campaign! As the Campaign Chairman, our President and CEO Stephen Edgerton unveiled the final amounts for each branch. Together, all of the branches raised a grand total of $1,013,374 that will benefit 8,200 families in the Greenville community. This great feat not only exceeded the campaign goal of 1 million, but also was a 17 % increase over last year’s campaign.

In the spirit of making Greenville healthier,The YMCA of Greenville welcomed the passionate and energetic guest speaker Dr. Ann Kulze, M.D. She discussed how fruits/veggies and exercise are the two fundamental health tools to a happy and healthy life. As she stated, “You should love the life you live.” 15 % of her book sales from this luncheon go back to the Y.

The YMCA of Greenville’s Open Doors Annual Community Support Campaign ensures that everyone in Greenville has the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive. At the Y, no child, family or adult is turned away because of an inability to pay. The campaign provides memberships, swim lessons, youth sports, after-school summer camp and more to the people of Greenville County.
