Methodical roasts first batch of coffee at new facility
The boutique coffee shop received its certificate of occupancy on its new facility last week, and promptly began roasting its first beans. “We started the day we got the certificate (of occupancy),” says Marco Suarez, who, with partners, Will Shurtz and David Baker, own and operate Methodical Coffee. You can get a taste of the Methodical coffee at the downtown café, at 101 N. Main St., Suite D. The facility is a joint venture between Methodical and The Community Tap. The latter partner is an investor as well as a community connector.
NC juice and salad concept to open in Greenville
The energy, that’s what attracted Matt Whitley and Tyler Helikson to Greenville. And that vibrancy is what is driving the two entrepreneurs to bring their healthy juice bar and café concept, Happy + Hale to Greenville. Happy + Hale Greenville will be the first location outside of North Carolina. The company currently has locations in Raleigh and in Durham.
Three new hotels are headed for Spartanburg County
Home2 Suites, an extended-stay concept by Hilton Worldwide, will be constructed on nearly seven acres in Duncan behind the site of the future Fuddruckers and Starbucks development at 1515 Highway 290. Spartanburg-based developer Pinnacle Hospitality has already announced its plan to build a 105-room Residence Inn by Marriott on 7.6 acres behind the Hampton Inn and Summit Pointe Conference and Events Center. Site plans filed with the county showed Pinnacle is also adding a four-story, 116-room Hilton Garden built on more than six acres adjacent to Summit Pointe.
Starbucks plans three new Upstate locations 
Seattle-based coffee chain Starbucks plans to build three new stores in the area, including two in Duncan and Boiling Springs and one in Simpsonville. A project official said his development company is working with Starbucks to develop all three stores simultaneously, although the stores will be completed at different times.
GSP announces new cargo service from Senator International
A new cargo service between Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport and Munich, Germany, will take flight this fall. GSP announced Tuesday that Senator International, a Germany-based global freight forwarder, will provide the round-trip service to customers in the Carolinas, Kentucky, Tennessee, and Georgia beginning Nov. 5.
