Great Southern Homes Again Named Best Green Builder by Greenville News Best of the Upstate Contest

For the second year in a row, Great Southern Homes won Best Green Builder of the Upstate in the 2021 Best of the Upstate Competition. The annual competition by Greenville News encourages the public to vote for their favorite businesses in the Upstate in a variety of categories.

“Once again being recognized as Best Green Builder by the readers of the Greenville News validates what we know to be true – that our energy-smart homes are a necessity in today’s economy,” says Rob Penny, Regional Sales Manager for Great Southern Homes. “Saving home energy costs for buyers by providing new homes that are more energy-efficient provides buyers with the ability to own a new home at a cost that is often less than renting or owning an older home.”

As the strategic sales and marketing partner for Great Southern Homes’ Upstate listings, Coldwell Banker Caine also celebrates this win.

“Representing an award-winning builder that prioritizes sustainability and cost-savings for their clients is truly an honor,” says Stephen Edgerton, President & CEO of Coldwell Banker Caine.

Great Southern Homes, a Top 45 Builder (BUILDER Magazine), believes in the value of ‘Living Green’ and ‘Living Smart’ and currently has nine GreenSmart communities in the Upstate. GreenSmart features include tankless water heaters, programmable thermostats, HERS Rating testing, Low E Windows, and Water Conserving appliances. The builder equips most of its homes with Honeywell’s Home Automation Smart System, and many homes also include an optional residential energy cost guarantee for two years after purchase.
