Great Southern Homes Named Best Green Builder by Greenville News Best of the Upstate Contest

Great Southern Homes was recently awarded Best Green Builder of the Upstate in the 2020 Best of the Upstate Competition. The contest was broadcast virtually as the winners of each category were announced in real time. The Annual Best of The Upstate Competition encourages the public to vote for their favorite businesses in the Upstate in a variety of categories.

Green building is an essential element of Great Southern Homes’ value to homeowners. The builder equips most of its homes with Honeywell’s Home Automation Smart System. Many Great Southern Homes also include an optional residential energy cost guarantee for two years after purchase.

Jeff Skeris, Great Southern Homes Upstate Land Development Manager, said, “We’re proud to have received this distinction as Best Green Builder by the readers of the Greenville News. One of our great features is that our energy smart homes save buyers on their home energy costs, which in today’s economy is really needed. Many buyers are finding that the ‘all-in payment,’ which includes, payment, energy costs, maintenance, etc. for new homes, is often less than renting or owning an older home.”

Great Southern Homes is a Top 45 Builder (BUILDER Magazine) and Coldwell Banker Caine is proud to be the strategic sales and marketing partner for its Upstate listings featuring nine Green Smart communities.

“We are so proud to represent a builder that cares so much about sustainability and cost-savings for their clients. Great Southern Homes is most deserving of this award,” said Erika DeRoberts, Senior Vice President of Developer Relations and Broker in Charge at Coldwell Banker Caine.
