20 May Artist Spotlight: Catherine Drennan Querin
Catherine Drennan Querin’s vibrant abstract paintings are on display and available for purchase through the end of June, at the Coldwell Banker Caine Spartanburg gallery.
On May 2, art admirers gathered to view Querin’s fluorescent and eclectic work as part of our Caine Cares initiative at an artist reception, open to the public.
Art enthusiasts across the Upstate came to meet Querin, mingle with other art aficionados, and purchase several pieces on display.
Querin’s pieces are often inspired by nature, music, or her own emotions and experiences in daily life. When speaking about her process, she says, “When I am stepping back from a painting and looking for some inspiration, I like to get out my books. I have too many to count!… Often my sketchbooks are full of notes and not images. I’ll write the names of the colors that I want to use or an idea.” From there, she creates remarkably alluring pieces full of energy and ardor.
