Downtown Greer is Experiencing a “Dramatic Evolution”Upstate Downtown Spartanburg

Greer’s small-town charm is obvious to any who spend time in the town. What people may not realize, though, is the strategic planning and vision that has been happening for nearly two decades. Currently, downtown Greer is transforming thanks to monumental and transformative projects – including a full downtown streetscape plan and a new hotel. These projects alone will be game changers for downtown.

New Multi-Use Building Coming to Downtown Spartanburg

More changes are coming to Spartanburg’s Main street. A new building will take the place of Smith’s Drug Store and the parking lot next to it. The new building will feature retail space on the ground floor, where Smith’s Drugs pharmacy will reside, and apartments above. The potential design also includes a drive-thru and parking under the building, similar to that of the Library Commons building.

Double the Trolleys for Downtown Greenville

The streets of Downtown Greenville will have more trolley bells ringing starting this week and going through the summer. The popular, free trolley service is expanding from two routes to four as we welcome the warm weather. The two routes will go beyond the central business district, where they currently operate. Enjoy a free ride from the Village of West Greenville to Heritage Green, or travel from Augusta Street to the Zoo!
