Now that the snow has passed, and life is settling back into it’s normal routine, it’s time to make fun plans for the weekend. From Greenville to Spartanburg, there are plenty of activities to enjoy in the Upstate to help you unwind from a long week.

The Last Speakeasy at the Upcountry History Museum –

This Friday, experience an authentic 1920s secret gin joint. The evening will be complete with secret knocks and passwords, dancing (including the Charleston), live entertainment, a bubbly bar, distilled spirits, and prohibition-era inspired foods. Guests are encouraged to dress true to era, so break out the flapper dresses and fedoras! Don’t forget to buy your tickets ahead of time.

Dog Walking Class at Thomas Creek Brewery –

Take the stress out of walking your dog by participating in this “loose leash” walking class. Upstate Dog Academy will teach you how to help your pup to walk politely on the leash through “pressure on pressure off” theory – all while enjoying a beer, time with your dog, and the community of fellow dog lovers! The class is this Sunday, the cost ($25) includes one beer, or $50 with collar included. Learn more here.

Level 10, Spartanburg’s first rooftop restaurant, opened Wednesday, January 24th. The high end menu will offer tasting-style portions of fresh pastas, seafood, and small plates…and not to mention handcrafted cocktails. Sitting on the 10th floor of the newly opened AC hotel in downtown, Level 10 is prepared to bring chic, fun, and exciting dining to the Spartanburg scene. Don’t forget to make reservations!

Go see Summer and Smoke at Twichell Auditorium –

Adapted from Tennessee William’s famous play, this heartbreaking love story portrays Mississippi at the turn of the 20th century. The protagonist struggles to find her freedom and identity as a woman in the South, all the while harboring feelings for her rebellious neighbor. This production is a collaboration between Converse Opera Theatre & Theatre Converse. Showing on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, be sure to buy tickets to the show. Buy tickets here.
