An (Affordable) Taste of the Upstate’s Best Cuisine

You may have thought it was time to say goodbye to the delicious food that comes with the holidays…but you thought wrong! South Carolina Restaurant Week provides the perfect opportunity to try the best menus in town. Beginning January 11, and lasting through January 21, over 40 Greenville and Spartanburg restaurants will have special offerings you don’t want to miss.

Restaurant Week allows locals to try a variety of the town’s best cuisine at a fraction of the price. Not only does this give restaurants a boost during a typically slow season, but it also allows people to try places with price points they may normally shy away from.

In Greenville, restaurants like like Hall’s Chophouse, Jianna, Rick Erwin’s, and Up on the Roof are participating. In Spartanburg, Growler Haus, The Standard, and Cribb’s Kitchen will have discounted menus – to name a few. (see full lists here) As residents of a town with a rapidly growing foodie scene, it would be a shame not to take advantage of South Carolina Restaurant Week. So, go ahead…make reservations to that spot you’ve been dying to try.

‘Learn and Earn’ Scholars Program Comes to Upstate

Spartanburg Community College and Michelin North America have joined forces to create a scholars program designed to increase workforce development in the Upstate. Due to the aging workforce in the manufacturing industry, companies have recognized a shortage of appropriately trained employees.

The program includes training in all aspects of manufacturing – specifically designed to meet industry needs. Upon completion of the program, a potential offer of full-time employment at Michelin will follow. This incredible effort will have positive benefits in the workforce, and thus the community.
