Greenville Chamber to Add Job Opportunities in 2018

The Greenville Chamber’s top priority for 2018 is expanding the workforce. The Chamber’s policy agenda included many initiatives to ensure that people are able to participate in the workforce. The efforts include protecting small businesses, and increased funding for public transportation. Because the Greenville business community is more engaged and active than ever before, the Chamber is working to encourage the growth in order to continue moving the economic needle in our region.

Spartanburg’s Montgomery Building is Officially Caffeinated

The $29 million revitalization of downtown Spartanburg’s historic Montgomery building will eventually include residential, commercial, and retail, and office space. However, their first official tenant will be serving up caffeine. Coffee lovers will be thrilled to know that the Spartanburg based, Little River Roasting Co. is opening a second location in the Montgomery building. The original Little River Roasting Co. has been a popular spot since 2010, and owner, Gervais Hollowell, looks forward to the new location.

One of the Greenville Zoo’s Own, Autumn the Giraffe, is Pregnant

Autumn, the 11-year-old Masai giraffe, is pregnant and could be giving birth to a calf as early as February. Autumn is a particularly tall giraffe, so the veterinary staff is excited to see what the calf will look like. As a Masai giraffe, Autumn is part of subspecies of the tallest land mammals in the world. Fans can stay updated on Autumn’s pregnancy through the zoo’s Facebook page, and when the time comes, they can even view her birth on the zoo’s webcam.

In Case You Were Wondering: What’s Happening at Pelham Road and the Parkway

Where a Wendy’s once stood, now sits as unused property…and recent activity has people wondering, “What’s happening at Pelham Rd and the Parkway?” To answer your questions, the space formerly known as the Pelham Green, was recently bought by Michelin. The property, being sold as two separate parcels, sits within eyesight of the Michelin North American headquarters. The space that was once a Wendy’s will be used for an employee credit union, while the use of the other segments of the property have not been finalized.
