Plans for downtown Greenville parking deck move forward
A city panel has tentatively approved plans for a five-level parking garage on East Broad Street in downtown Greenville. The structure would be built at 200 E. Broad St., where Elliott Davis Decosimo and other firms are located. The garage will be built on top of the existing parking area to the rear of the building along Webster Street.
UP on the Roof opens on top of Embassy Suites Downtown
UP, as employees call it, overlooks the Reedy River with near-360-degree views of the city, and features outdoor fire pits, bottled craft cocktails, along with a Pacific Island-inspired menu using loads of local ingredients. The target demographic for UP is young professionals, says Kirk Watkins, general manager.
Proposed new trolley routes cover Cleveland Park, Village of West Greenville
One of the city’s new trolleys would serve Augusta Street, Cleveland Park and the Greenville Zoo, while the other would serve the Village of West Greenville under routes unveiled by Greenlink Monday afternoon. The city is buying and funding operation of two new trolleys. The trolleys, which are being paid for through hospitality tax revenue, must support restaurants, retail, parks and leisure destinations outside the central business district by providing tourists — and residents — transportation.
FR8yard and its open air concept coming to Spartanburg
What will Spartanburg, Dallas and Chicago soon have in common? An entirely outdoor restaurant. R8yard will be the first of its kind not just in the Upstate, but in the Carolinas. The budding concept — part beer garden, part family tailgate — garners a near cult-like following at similar establishments such as Truck Yard in Dallas and the backyard of Parson’s Chicken and Fish in Chicago.
