High Cotton to be replaced by Halls Chophouse
Charleston-based Hall Management Group will close High Cotton in Greenville Jan. 4 and open a Halls Chophouse at the Main Street location Jan. 22. The 8,000-square-foot restaurant overlooking the Reedy River became part of Hall Management Group earlier this year, when the company acquired Maverick Southern Kitchens. Brewery nearly ready at old Claussen Bakery
Greenville’s fast growing craft beer scene is getting a Christmas treat this year when the long-planned Upstate Craft Beer Company opens Dec. 26 in the historic former Claussen Bakery building on Augusta Street. Colgate-Palmolive plans Greenville warehouse
Another big company, Colgate-Palmolive, will distribute its products from a location on South Carolina’s Interstate 85 corridor. The household products giant plans to open a distribution center near the intersection of White Horse Road and Interstate 85 in Greenville, according to a real estate executive involved in the lease deal. Lowes Foods announces second area grocery
Carolina grocery chain Lowes Foods announced this week it will build its second Greenville area location at the Village Market-East shopping center on the northwest corner of Woodruff Road and Sunnydale Drive in the Five Forks area of Simpsonville. In July, the grocer announced plans for its first store in the market at Suber and Hammett Bridge roads in Greer. That store is currently under construction and is scheduled to open in summer 2016…
Blue Ridge Brewing closing North Main location after 20 years
The Blue Ridge Brewing Co. will be closing its doors on North Main by the end of this year ─ 20 years after the brewpub staked out the first territory for craft beer in downtown Greenville. Blue Ridge had been poised to shut down its operations over the winter as it prepares to open a full-scale brewery in downtown Greer, owner Bob Hiller told The Greenville News on Tuesday.
