Finding Loving Homes for 91 Upstate Pets

On Friday, October 5, Coldwell Banker Caine helped host the Pick Me! SC adoption event at Greenville County Animal Care. Over the course of the weekend, all pet adoptions were free of charge.

It’s pretty much a guarantee that walking into Greenville County Animal Care will make my day. I look forward to seeing, holding, and meeting all of the precious dogs and puppies. As I meander through the aisles of pets, I stop to read the information sheets to learn where they’ve come from – and even open the kennels to offer a head scratch or a belly rub. The sweet faces always pull at my heartstrings. I wish I could adopt each one!

Saying bye to Lodo!

This year, I happened upon an older dog named Lodo. His sad eyes were begging to play. I let him out of the kennel and put a leash around his neck to walk him through the facility. Lodo’s info sheet led me to believe that he was a stray, or possibly formerly mistreated. His tail wagged proudly as he pulled me around the building, stopping to sniff everything in sight.

The free adoption event is part of Coldwell Banker’s Homes for Dogs Project. The campaign aligns perfectly with our Caine Cares platform, which includes animal welfare as one of the four pillars we support.

We are thrilled to announce that 91 pets found loving homes as a result of this year’s event!

I was especially excited to discover that Lodo was one of the dogs adopted. And though I’m not the lucky dog mom, I can promise you that when it comes time (hopefully soon) to own my own pet, I’ll be visiting Greenville County Animal Care.

The countless volunteers who love on dogs like Lodo every day are making a huge difference in the lives of these animals. We are proud to support missions such as Greenville County Animal Care’s to find happy homes for every dog in need.
