Community Compass: Augusta Road Part 1

Community_Compass_bannerExploring Augusta Road:

Tradition, deep roots and community are what come to mind when describing Augusta Road. Many children who grew up here venture back to raise families of their own. As one of Greenville’s most affluent neighborhoods, Augusta Road contains traditional historic single-family homes on winding streets that stem from the business district. These homes are known for large front yards and mature trees. You will also find beautiful condos close to downtown near Cleveland Park. Like many older areas of Greenville, you will find a mix of historic houses with the flare of new urban multi-family homes. Many stores and businesses are in walking distance from residential homes, providing ample sidewalks for walking, jogging or biking. Augusta Road instills a southern charm and sense of community in people who are drawn to Greenville, S.C.

Having grown up in Greenville, I have seen many positive changes to our downtown and surrounding areas. However, the Augusta Road area has always thrived with a family-friendly atmosphere, old oak trees, and beautiful homes. They say that Augusta Road is not just a street, ‘it’s a way of life’.- Jacob Mann, CB Caine Agent

Local Taco– A fresh frozen margarita in one hand and spicy shrimp taco in the other, Local Taco is the perfect combination of tex-mex and that warm southern culture. Only 1.5 years old, Local Taco has been well received by the Augusta Rd. community. You can enjoy your meal on the patio or inside with the open-air floor plan ideal for summer weather. The outside bar is a popular spot for an after work pick-me-up. Although they have a variety of options on the menu, they are known for their specialty tacos. From BBQ to Philly Cheese Steak tacos, there are unique options to pair together. Add a side of Cuban corn or Mexi tater tots and you won’t be disappointed.
