Whether you are renting a house, townhome or condo, you should to make it yours. Prepping for the Holiday season will allow you to explore what your space has to offer. Here are a few ways you can transform your home into a warm and festive environment for the Holidays.
- Tree– Does your space not allow for a traditional tree? An artificial tabletop tree is a quaint option as well as affordable. Simplify your home, yet still maintain that holiday spirit.
*Safety Hint* Keep in mind that if you do purchase a live tree, place it away from heat sources. This will prevent potential fires due to the highly flammable needles and sap. If you are buying an artificial tree, make sure it’s labeled “fire resistant.”
- Lights: Lights are a great way to brighten up your space with Holiday cheer. If used properly, you can display lights in various places throughout your home. Try intertwining lights with garland that drape along your banister or fireplace. This adds a little extra to your décor, without overdoing it.
*Safety Hint* Do not mount lights that will damage the cords and use hooks instead of nails/tacks. Replace any lights with frayed wires, broken sockets and loose connections.
- Candles– An easy way to give your space warmth this season is to incorporate candles in your décor. Not only do they give you warmth, but also create a festive, inviting atmosphere for you and your guests. Seasonal scented candles are also a nice touch.
*Safety Hint* Secure candles. Keep candles on a sturdy base to prevent tipping. Never leave a lit candle unattended. 
Shelves– Shelf space is ideal for those little nic-nacs that add to your overall holiday theme. These small spaces are good for ornaments, figurines or framed holiday pictures that add to the larger items in your space.
*Safety Hint* Make sure to place fragile items in areas where there is less traffic. If you use ornaments, make sure to use heavier, sturdier ones that won’t brake easily.
