Sales price of Greenville News site could be record for downtown
Plans for the Camperdown development along Main Street took a big step forward Wednesday when the developer, Centennial American Properties, closed on its purchase of The Greenville News site. Centennial paid $13.25 million for the prominent property of nearly four acres at 305 South Main Street, said Brody Glenn, president of the Greenville real estate development company. Effective Jan. 2, tolls on the Southern Connector will increase by 25 cents on two-axle vehicles, $1.75 total and by 20 cents per axle for multi-axle vehicles. According to officials, this is the first toll increase since early 2012 and no more increases are scheduled until 2020. In 2016, Palmetto Pass members will pay $1.50 as of Jan. 2, a 15-cent increase, and Palmetto Pass multi-axle vehicles will pay an additional 15 cents per axle…

Downtown Greenville may have a German-style beer garden located alongside the Greenville Health System Swamp Rabbit Trail in 2016. HKV LLC has applied for a special exception permit to establish a beer garden at 1 Riley Street at the corner of Westfield Street. Partner Frank Krimmel said the 3,500-square-foot site would have a 1,200-square-foot serving area and capacity for approximately 144 people…
