woodruff-trafficWoodruff Road holiday traffic measures in effect
Attention, Woodruff Road motorists. Measures to alleviate holiday traffic congestion are in place. Left turns will be restricted between Woodruff Industrial Lane and the Interstate 85 interchange from now through the holiday season. On Black Friday weekend, electronic message boards will be used to direct traffic, and officials will be closely monitoring key signalized intersections, such as the ones around Magnolia Park and The Shops at Greenridge.

spartanburgconvention Study: Spartanburg’s tourism marketing paying off
The Spartanburg Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) on Thursday released its 2016 Marketing and Media Effectiveness Study, which measured the impact of the CVB’s advertising on visitation, travel spending and return on investment (ROI). According to the study, tourism had a $17.4 million economic impact on the county, while the CVB invested $158,000 in paid advertising during the year. That means that for every $1 the CVB spent on advertising, there was a more than $110 economic impact.

The company known for its scratch-made biscuits, hand breaded chicken and famously seasoned fries is launching a new, updated restaurant design and the first one will be in Greenville. Bojangles’, which announced plans to create a new branded look beginning in 2017, will open the first new store in Greenville in January. Construction on the new 39,000-square-foot restaurant is underway and once completed, it will replace the longstanding Bojangles store at 2405 Laurens Rd.

Greenville Health System on Tuesday announced plans for a new psychiatric hospital on Grove Road that it will build in partnership with Acadia Healthcare. The $64 million, 80,000-square-foot facility is slated to open in March 2018 and will provide expanded services as well as additional beds for a region hampered by a dearth of mental health care. The 120-bed hospital will provide 52 more beds than are currently available at the aging Marshall I. Pickens Hospital.
