City advances plans for Greenville News complex– Developers planning a mixed-use project at The Greenville News site have received city Design Review Board approval to move ahead with demolition plans. The vote Thursday is the first of many required steps for developers who said demolition could possibly start as soon as this summer…

Street artist who painted Greenville mural makes list– Gaia, the Baltimore street artist who painted a mural on the side of a brick building on Falls Street in downtown Greenville as part of the Year of Altruism, has made Forbes Magazine’s “30 Under 30 Art & Style” list…

Rolling View– Surgeons for Sight to launch Vision Van early this year. More than 16,000 Upstate residents need eye care, but can’t get it because of cost or access issues, according to local nonprofit Surgeons for Sight. The organization was formed in 2009 by Southern Eye Associates to go on mission trips to provide eye care to the neediest people around the world…

Study shows Habitat’s Impact on Greenville– Habitat for Humanity of Greenville County recently surveyed families living in Habitat homes to measure their quality of life. “we have long known that Habitat is really in the business of transforming families-not just building homes,” Monroe Free, president and CEO of Habitat Greenville, said in a release…

Zaxby’s opens prototype restaurant in Easley– Zaxby’s in Easley reopened Monday as a prototype restaurant. “We’ve left not stone unturned” for this prototype, Robert Baxley, COO of Zaxby’s, said in a release. He promised customers a high-end, fast casual experience, noting a new, upscale dining area and new standards “to make our food even fresher. We also listened to feedback from our customers and made improvements to increase the speed of service and quality of food.”
