In With The New – The Scoop on What’s Coming to the Upstate

It seems as if there is a constant stream of restaurants, businesses, and startups coming to Greenville, Spartanburg, and everywhere in between. It can be hard to keep up with all the ways that the Upstate is growing. To keep you in the loop, we’ve put together some of the biggest Upstate developments that have been announced recently.

Ground Broken for United Community Plaza in Spartanburg

Ground was broken for United Community Plaza, a multi-story mixed-use building at the southeast corner of East Main and South Pine streets, one of Spartanburg’s busiest intersections. United Community Bank owns the property and plans to relocate into the corner of the nearly 17,000-square-foot building. In addition, the building will also offer space for retail, office and restaurant tenants.

Topgolf Confirms Plans to Open In Greenville

The rumors have been going around for months. Now, however, it’s officially official. Topgolf has confirmed they are coming to Greenville and have provided details on the location. The massive sports entertainment development will be built at Garlington Park near the intersection of Garlington and Pelham. Upstate residents can finally look forward to the year-round indoor and outdoor entertainment that Topgolf will bring.

Serendipity Labs Coworking Space Signs for Plush Mill Site in Greenville

The former Piedmont Plush Mill, located on Highway 123 between downtown and the Village of West Greenville will soon be turned into a coworking space known as Serendipity Labs. This upscale hospitality brand will offer a flexible workspace for large companies and remote, independent workers alike. Serendipity Labs is designed to encourage serendipitous interactions that result in new ideas and business connections through a variety of work-style settings and events.

 

3.2 Million Dollar Sewer Project Preps Southwestern Spartanburg for Growth

Can sewer projects be exciting? When they mean major future growth for a city, yes! This particular project is located in a fast growing area of Southwestern Spartanburg County. The project will include construction of a new pump station and three-mile force main and for a half-mile gravity sewer line, according to the Spartanburg Sanitary Sewer District Commission. Developers look forward to the completion of the project as it will benefit not only current subdivisions, but future businesses as well.
